i am doing situps (well, “knee bends”, as i cannot involve my hands when i am wearing a pulse oximeter)… and i am reaching 160 beats per minute heart rate and an oxygen desaturation in NO TIME AT ALL! o_O

How to avoid oxygen depravation due to health issue while flying. My heart goes out to the Family of Carine Desir. If you have heart problems, pulmonary problems, fibrosis, COPD, asbestosis, severe asthma,
are often severly short of breath and fly, please listen up.
I was able to survive a pulmonary crisis in mid air ONLY because I had my
own Pulse/Oxygen meter and permission to carry a oxygen convertor.
My heart goes out to Ms. Desir because I know she was in pain and terrified.
You can NOT assume anyone will assist you if this happens to you.
My pulmo chastised me for even ASKING for a letter granting permission for me to take my oxygen convertor on the plane with me.
Refused to give me the letter, while still guaranteeing my safety. If I had know the danger, I would have at least brought an extra battery. My battery would have died very quickly if I had changed my ltr flow from the 1.5 he instructed me to use to the 6 liters I can only assume it would take to raise my oxygen saturation from 70% to a safe 90%. I spent the last half of the flight I was only able to keep my saturation up to 83-85%.
I don’t think I have ever been as terrified and alone as I was on that plane.
I knew that I was ON MY OWN up there!!! If I didn’t act quick I was going to die. I’m glad Ms. Desir did not have to go through this alone. Bless her cousin for being there with her. The woman in the seat next to me hid her face in a magezine while I struggled to pull my machine up from the floor and turn it up. She didn’t look at me the whole rest of the flight.
