Japan is the second biggest contributor to the war effort???? (After, I assume, the US?) More than the UK, Canada, Germany? I find that hard to believe. How are they defining contribution?

These reports from US Gov. of new found wealth in Afghanistan do serve to put a positive spin on an otherwise bad situation but it changes little. What Afghanistan needs now is direct action in development. This new potential for foreign investment will take some time and if the government cannot get a strong hold of its country these “buried riches” may end up meaningless.
