An occasional pause or extra beat is normal. Normally, your heart rate will speed up a little when you breathe deeply.
Check your pulse rate after 10 minutes resting.

Heart rate can be affected by : excercise, caffeine, decongestane (drugs for flu), amphetamine, stress, fever, medicine use to treat asthma, heart disease, hypertyroidsm, etc.
