The purpose of the blood pressure test is to ensure the client’s blood pressure is within a healthy range, and that their cardiovascular system if functioning adequately.
B)
Cuff placed on left arm
Stethoscope over the brachial artery in the elbow
Cuff inflated to approx 180mm hg
Slowly release pressure in cuff until a pulse is audible – note the pressure (systolic)
Deflate cuff until no pulse is audible – note the pressure (diastolic)
Remove cuff
C)
Results were 120/78 which is well within the healthy range and there would be no concerns with this client.
