I am 18 years old female…
When I stand I get lightheaded, I went to the doctor today… and when I stood up and walked around the office my pulse was rising … 130… and my oxygen level dropped to the 80s… which the doctor claim is really low. That’s just by walking around the office. I get real bad chest pains also sometimes…. What is the cause of all this?
4 months and I cannot get an answer (lightheadedness) though the chest pain is new … and the shortness of breath.
The doctor didn’t know what it can be
This sounds a lot like me, actually. I’ve been diagnosed with something called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. When sitting or standing too long I get dizzy and feel like I’m about to faint. You can also have chest pains and shortness of breath with this too.
Have you ever had your blood pressure checked? Usually with this, your blood pressure drops upon standing and your heart rate goes up, trying to get the blood flowing to where it’s needed.
I’d been to doctor after doctor for years before I got a diagnoses. Most doctors haven’t heard of it. Maybe read up on it some and if it sounds like what you’re going through, mention it to your doctor and hopefully they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.
You went to the doctor. What did he say? He certainly must have given you some sort of idea.
