In my case, it was a blockage, so my pulse simply went faster and faster until it was fibrillating weakly.... say well over 200 bpm. But it could be that the attack is associated with insufficient cardiac output due to bradycardia itself (low pulse rate), requiring higher stroke volumes per beat, which the heart is incapable of delivering, so the muscles of the heart itself are being starved of blood and begin to fail.
