I am only about 6 weeks pregnant, my pulse always seems to be going quite fast. Recently my heart has been skipping a lot and makes me feel sick and dizzy. I dont drink coffee at all so I know its not that. Should I be worried?
These are called ectopic beats and are usually quite normal. But they can indicate a chemical inbalance of some kind.
You should avoid the following:
Coffee
Tea
Chocolate
Aspartame (also known as Nutrasweet or E951)
And make sure you are drinking plenty of plain water.
But also, please talk to your doctor about this.

My heart feels like it skipping beats all the time – I finally went to a cardiologist a couple years ago, he told me that I’m having PVCs, Premature Ventricular Contractions. For me, they are harmless, but they can get annoying when they happen every third heartbeat! I also noticed that I got them a lot more when I was pregnant. But since it’s also making you feel sick and dizzy (I never felt that way with them) you should probably talk about it with your ob-gyn. She may refer you to a cardiologist to get an echocardiogram (an ultrasound on your heart, harmless to your baby) or she may want you to wear a halter monitor for a day (that just records your heartbeats so the cardiologist can study it later).
So I wouldn’t necessarily worry, but I wouldn’t ignore it, either.
