Exercising regularly can condition (strengthen) the heart. When the heart is healthy and well conditioned it does not work as hard to perform its job of moving blood throughout the body. Individuals that exercise regularly often end up with a slower resting pulse rate due to a well conditioned heart.

Your heart is a muscle, just like the muscles in your arms and legs. Exercise that gets the heart pumping is actually exercising the heart, making the heart muscle stronger. If your heart is stronger, it doesn’t need to pump as much as a weaker heart, to push around the same amount of blood. So, some people do exercise and end up all out of breath and dizzy, it means they’re heart is working very strenuously to pump blood to the places where its needed. Those with strong hearts, even if they do heaps of exercise, their hearts don’t have to pump as fast, meaning that it’s a stronger muscle.
