    Why do athletes often have lower resting pulse rates and blood pressure than nonathletes?

    Because typically athletes have stronger hearts, which can move more blood through the veins per pump. If more blood is being moved each pump, then less pumps are needed to move the same amount of blood that it would take a non-athlete’s heart more pumps to move. Hope that makes sense…
