  • what is relation between pulse rate and blood pressure?

Posted by admin on November 12th, 2009 and filed under blood pulse | 1 Comment »

If there is some relation, if pulse rate is low (40-50 pps) and high (90 -110 pps) what may be the blood pressure (high or low).

Lower pulse rate results in lower blood pressure because there is less pumping of the heart, and therefore less resistance against the arterial walls (which causes blood pressure). Higher pulse rate generally means higher blood pressure for the opposite reason.

However, if blood pressure gets too low, the heart will pump faster to try and raise it back up (ie, if you lose a lot of blood, your pulse rate increases).
