My mother has this battery operated blood pressure machine and it says that my pulse is low.
For the past two days my pulse seemed low to me, however, this showed it to be 52bpm when ive mostly got 58-60.
How accurate are these machines?
The best thing to do is to find your radial pulse. It is located on your wrist just above your thumb. Use your index and middle finger to feel your pulse. Count the beats for 1 minute. This is your pulse rate. A normal pulse is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. If you are a young athletic person your pulse rate can be in the 50s. There are many things that can affect the acuracy of a machine. These include the quality of the machine, the placement of the cuff on your arm or finger, or the charge of the battery.
My BP monitor is about 5 points off when compared to the Dr.’s BP monitor. Were the batteries fresh in her BP machine?
