-4 months ago – odd sensation of wind lightly blowing through leg hairs (even when pants on) -About same time – noticing tiny spider-veins. -1-2 months ago – very slight non-pitting edema in ankle. – 1 month ago – physical and CBC & urinalysis was perfect. (although BP was read at 140/88)
- Over the last month I’ve checked my BP at a CVS machine a few times and it is always between 145/85 and 120/68.
- biggest problem is that my apical pulse seems to be jumping out of my chest -seems to be worse at night -very uncomfortable lying on left side, because it exaggerates the pounding on my ribs.
I’m a personal trainer, eat well, and exercise. I’m 190 # at 6’2". I lowered sodium intake. The edema is the only symptom that has seemed to go away. Over the last 4 years I experienced a turbulent relationship and a bad breakup. Anxiety had been chronically really high, not so bad now. Is that the problem? I have a doc appointment on Thurs, but would like advice from u guys. Thank you
You did not mention your age or heart rate. CBC & UA are not of much value here. You may need full electrolytes and EKG to rule out an arrhythmia or related conditions. Your heart rate could determine if your edema, which has subsided, was from heart output or salt. The sensations that you mentioned in your legs could be related to the early collection of edema there. Something needs to be uncovered here with more workup than you report beyond attributing your symptoms to stress. It is good that you will see your doctor Thursday..
