Sudden tachycardia that lasted a few seconds, now 5minutes later my apical pulse is 90 bpm, i am 19 weeks…..?
pregnant as well. Should this be a concern?
Now i found out i was pregnant because i was having palpitations and shortness of breath, and i went to the er and was told that i was pregnant, and one of he reasons why i felt my heart pounding like that was because when you’re pregnant, your heart has to pump ALOT of blood to maintain the life in me.
But this one was different, it felt like hard poundings and the beats were regular. I think it was brought on by me moving too quickly from a sitting position to standing.
Again, is this a need for concern or should i just monitor it?
There can be many causes of sinus tachycardia. Are you a Registered Nurse? How did you do your apical pulse? You will have needed a stethoscope and some training to be able to do this.
Tachycardias are caused by anxiety, fear, blood loss, heart failure etc.
If your tachycardias are caused by one of these factors you need to treat the underlying cause. You should see your GP and Gynaecologist and let them know of what you are experiencing. I say this because advancing pregnancy may worsen the tachycardias which may need treatment.
